One of my favorite songs!

Mark 9:17-23 and Spiritual Awakening

"A man in the crowd answered, 'Teacher, I brought you my son, who is possessed by a spirit that has robbed him of speech. Whenever it seizes him. It throws him to the ground. He foams at the mouth, gnashes his teeth and becomes rigid. I asked your disciples to drive out the spirit, but they could not.'

'O unbelieving generation,' Jesus replied, 'How long shall I put up with you?  Bring the boy to me.'

So they brought him. When the spirit saw Jesus it immediately threw the boy into a convulsion. He fell to he ground and rolled around, foaming at the mouth.

Jesus asked the boy's father, 'How long has he been like this?'

'From childhood,' he answered. 'It has often thrown him into the fire or water to kill him.  But if you can do anything, take pity on us and help us.'

'If you can?' Said Jesus. 'Everything is possible for him who believes.'"

Mark 9:17-23

"But if you commit to your spiritual awakening as the most important part of the process, something marvelous will happen.  Life will not feel as fraught, as frazzled, or as fragmented as before because you'll realize that the spiritual , the creative, and the practical can't be separated. They each count. They each mean something. They're all connected."

Mark 8:34-38 and Reverence

"Then he called the crowd to him along with his disciples and said : 'If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me and the gospel will save it. What good is it for a man to gain the whole world, yet forfeit his soul?  Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul?  If anyone is ashamed of me and my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will be ashamed of him when he comes in His Father's glory with the holy angels."

Mark 8:34-38

"Real Life- the real joy we are meant to be living - begins when we restore a sense of reverence to our daily affairs.  Today, search for the Sacred in the ordinary with gratitude in your heart and you will surely find it."

Proverbs 10:16 and Centering

A scripture a day

"The wages of the righteous bring them to life, but the income of the wicked brings them punishment."

Proverbs 10:16

"Acknowledge, recognize and reorder your priorities so that they give purposeto your day...Today make getting in touch with the Silence within yourself your first priority.  As you do, you will be amazed at how everything else seems to find its own order."

Catching up

My last couple of months have been filled with a lot of family, adventure and discovery.  My little brother came home from a two year church mission in Sweden, so we have been able to spend time with him.  My grandpa and uncle and aunt came down to see everyone upon his return.  The kids have been busy with school, and we just returned from a two week vacation south.  It was the first time I have ever been away for two weeks in my life and it was glorious.  We drove from Washington State through California to Arizona, and then back home through Nevada.  I shall elaborate on our stops over the next couple of posts.

I can't believe how old and tall my daughter is getting.  The fact that Logan is probably over half way done with kindergarten (I am more sad than i was at the beginning of the year), that I am already looking into signing Ian up for Preschool in the fall, and that Owen is 6 months this month and breaking his first tooth (I only have about 4-5 more months of breastfeeding period.  That is less time than I have had.  Putting my sadness in perspective...this child has never drinken from a bottle.

The older the kids get the faster time goes.  I can't believe it, and am just trying to enjoy every second of it.  I am thankful that I don't have to work and can stay home right now.  I will have my time again soon.

I think I will turn in for the night.  I spent the whole evening organizing important paperwork for tax purposes and am quite tired.  I love my husband, kids and family.  They are all sleeping under my roof right now and that is a good thing.

Good night.
